چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a complex heterogeneous increasingly becoming global public health concern. It characterized by persistent inflammation state which appear to be caused cytokines, grown factors hormones. Peritoneal dialysis (PD) accounts for 9% of all replacement therapy (KRT) over time, some changes are expected occur in the peritoneal membrane mainly due exposure PD solutions, infectious processes non-infectious complications. This inflammatory process poorly understood needs further clarification, but Th17 cells Th1 seem involved. Therefore, we aimed quantify frequency peripheral immune concentration IL-17A blood (PB) effluent (PE) compare healthy control group. Method In cross-sectional study 26 patients 10 healthy, age sex-matched controls evaluated PB PE frequencies T lymphocytes, CD4, CD8 flow cytometry as well IL-17 concentrations using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Comparisons were performed between different groups according modality, number exchanges, dialysate tonicity, extraneal use, infusion daily total volumes, type transport volume indexes. Statistical analyses SPSS statistics version 26. Results Table 1 summarizes main characteristics controls. Overall, comparison with group, was significantly lower (P = 0.001). On other hand, substantially expanded PE, compared also presented 0.061) those prescribed Extraneal had lowest 0.030). higher vs 0.012). Finally, lymphocytes high transporters high-average 0.021). Conclusion our cohort, proinflammatory cytokines. rather than increased, pointing predominant cytolytic activity increased. Treatment associated these cells, somehow counterbalancing millieu glucose concentrations.

Comparison of Marital Satisfaction in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
Alternative kidney treatments, including renal transplantation, hemodialysis (HD), and peritoneal dialysis (PD), are administered when severe kidney failure occurs and the kidney can no longer function. The present study compares different dimensions of marital satisfaction in HD and PD patients so as to assist physicians and patients in choosing their appropriate treatment. This cross-se...
متن کاملTransperitoneal Calcium Balance in Anuric Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis and Automated Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
Backgrounds. Calcium (Ca) and bone metabolism in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and hemodialysis (HD) patients show a remarkable difference depending on dialysis modalities. The levels of serum Ca and phosphate (P) in HD patients fluctuate contributing to the intermittent and rapid removal of plasma solute unlike in CAPD. Characteristics of plasma solute transport in automated...

متن کاملOutput of peritoneal cells during peritoneal dialysis.
Peritoneal dialysis provides a good source for the collection of macrophages. Six patients with chronic renal failure undergoing peritoneal dialysis for the first time were studied, and maximum cell egress, mostly macrophages, occurred at 24-48 hours and diminished after 48 hours.
متن کاملPeritoneal Dialysis in Elderly Patients
People over the age of 80 years are the fastest-growing segment of the population with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, which is dialysis initiation. We set out to describe the experiences of those elderly patients in initiating and being maintained on peritoneal dialysis. We interviewed 4 patients (1 woman, 3 men; time on dialysis: 2 – 5 years) 75 – 88 years of age. A predetermined set of quest...
